Rambo Circus is being organised at Exhibition Grounds Nampally Hyderabad. Two shows run everyday, one at 4:00 P.M & the second show at 7:00 P.M.

Please bear with the crappy cell phone pictures :)

Ayur Herbals Cold Wax

Most of the times I get Hot waxing done at parlours.
Hot waxing method involves heating the wax to a comfortable temperature. A thin layer of wax is spread onto the area to be treated in the direction of the hair growth. Once the wax is cooled it is quickly torn off, in the opposite direction of the hair growth, and the hair is removed with it.

Cold Waxing method -Cold wax strips are available in various shapes and size so you can use them for removing hair from eyebrow to legs. In India Ayur skin range had introduced this cold wax which comes in a tub like hot wax, the procedure to use it almost the same, except for the fact that it shouldn't be heated & should be applied directly.

When the two waxing methods are compared then it is observed that in hot waxing method the wax adheres better to hairs. But cold wax doesn’t adhere that well to the hair shafts.

My skin is very sensitive & whenever I get the Hot wax done, it develops rashes, reddish bumps, applying ice on the affected area subsides the irritation but the skin looks inflamed for few days. So I decided to try this Ayur Cold Wax at home.

What does Ayur Claim about this wax: Gently removes unwanted hair. Unique formulation of lemon, vinegar and sugar that slows down re-growth of hair and revitalizes the skin by keeping the skin soft, smooth and supple. Hot Wax should be heated, prior to use.

Ingredients: Sucrose, Sorbitol, Aqua,Glycerine, Citric, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Fragrance

How to use the Ayur Cold WaxFirst clean the skin and wipe it dry. Apply the wax with a blunt knife in the direction of the hair growth. Place the cellophane strip over the wax, press down firmly and pull the strip with a jerk, in the opposite direction of hair growth. These cellophene strips are hygienic to use. Finally clean the skin with water to remove wax stains and apply Ayur  Astringent Lotion

Price: Rs.35 INR for 150g

My Experience:  I have used it so many times & it does help in getting hair removed. The only problem I faced was getting the wax out of the container & applying it. Unlike the hot wax, the cold wax doesn't spread easily on the skin. One needs to have a lot of patience to take it out of the container & spreads it well, it takes a lot of time in spreading. The cellophene strips are good for nothing, they are very small & short.

Reasons why I adore this cold wax:
1. Doesn't irritate my skin or cause inflammation.
2. Hair that grows back is fine.
3. No overwhelming fragrance. This smells like sugar syrup.
4.Doesn't involve the task of heating the wax.
5. Decently priced.
6. Packaging is simple, this comes in a tub with a spatula.
7.Easily available at regular beauty stores.

Reasons why I abhor this cold wax:
1. The whole procedure consumes a lot of time.
2. Application can seem messy because of the stickness.
3. The short cellophene strips are not effective in removing hair. I use the regular soft paper strips that most parlours use.
4. If the lid of the jar is not pressed properly , it can attract ants ;-)

Will I reccomend this cold wax: This is not suitable for busy women because it's a time consuming & tiring task. If you have sensitive skin & have ample amount of time, you could give it a try. But if you are busy person & don't have sensitive skin, going to a parlour & getting it done is the best solution.

NOTD- Avon Simply Pretty

Hello Beauties, This time I have come up with this NOTD because I wasn't feeling like doing nail art.
I have got the shade "Glitter Gold" from the Avon Simply pretty range. I like this Simply Pretty range because there are lots of pretty shades to choose & are reasonable priced, sometimes these are available at 30 & 50% discount. I wanted a nice color to go along with my party salwar kameezs with golden zari or thread work & I grabbed this while it was on discount. The reason I get these small bottles is because I can finish these fast & try other colors at reasonable price.I have applied 2 coats & this is how it looks.

What does Avon claim about this nail color: Provides excellent coverage with intensive color effect.

Price: Actual Rs.55 for 5ml got it for Rs.33 when the offer " buy 3 Nail colors for Rs.100 INR" was running. I guess!

Reasons why I adore this range:
1. Approximately 39 shades to choose from.
2. Thin brush which provides an even application.
3. 2-3 coats are just enough to get a great color.
4. Lasts for 4-5 days without chipping, the color just tends to wear out after sometime.
5.It's not very thick & dries fast.
6. Most of the times available on discount.

Reasons why I abhor this range:
1. Has that strong nail polish smell, I guess it has those Big-3 components( Toluene, Formaldehyde & Dibutyl Phtalate)

Will I reccomend this ?  Yes I will, if you want to try lots of colors at affordable price, then you should definitely get these!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss

Hello Beauties, Today I'm going to review Maybelline Color Sensational Lip gloss. I'm more of a Lip balm person, my regular everyday make up  includes applying Kajal, or sometimes eyeliner & a lip balm. So the only time I use a lip gloss is when I go to a party.
The Color sensational range has been a huge hit, I guess this range was launched sometime around July 2010, the lipsticks from this range are still a rage!
The lipgloss range is divided into the shades Plums, Naturals,Pinks,Reds.

I got the shade 625 Wine All Mine, I never realised until I checked the Maybelline website that this shade comes under Reds ;-)
According to the Maybelline India Website there are 10 shades available in the Color sensational Lipgloss range.

If you want to have a look at the swatches click here

What does Maybelline claim about this Lipgloss:
Sophisticated color and shine
Lips feel luxuriously soft and supple with nourishing honey nectar
Expert Tip
Use the wand to apply lip gloss starting in the center of your upper lip. Work from the center to outer edges of your lips, following the contour of your mouth. Follow the same technique for your bottom lip.

Price: Rs.250 for 6.8 ml

My Experience: I got the shade Wine All Mine which is like a light, reddish purple shade, the main reason I got this dark shade is because they would be suitable for parties. The Lip gloss is shiny &shimmery in texture & looks beautiful without being OTT. The gloss comes with a precision tip & it's is easy to apply. I like the fact that the  texture is not goop. The packaging is too simple, the gloss comes in a transparent glass tube without any shade or the brand name. There is sticker with the shade name & number in small letters at the bottom of the tube.

Reasons why I adore this Lip gloss:
1. I absolutely love the color. It's a nice pigmented shade with hints of little shimmer.
2.  Available in 10 different shades.
3. Reasonable priced at Rs.250.
4. It's non-sticky gloss with a light strawberry smell & is tasteless too ;-)
5. It stays on the lips for at least 5 hours without any food intake. It leaves behind these tiny shimmer after food consumption & make the lips look shiny.

Reasons why I abhor this Lip gloss:
1. The packaging is very simple & doesn't have the ingredients mentioned.

Will I reccomend this Lipgloss: Yes, definitely, if you are somebody who doesn't like Lipsticks & want a lip gloss at a reasonable price with lots of shades to choose from, this is for you! This is more of a party wear gloss!

I have been tagged by Dr.Shivani from shivani's makeupblog & Sumitha from Be Beauty-licious to do the Handwriting Tag.
It's fun to do this tag, especially when we hardly ever write anything in this digital age. I wrote on 2-3 papers & then tore them because I could see my handwriting has changed, it's become bad. So here it is. Please click on the picture to see it clearly :)

Simple Nail art for Beginners

Hello Girls, I'm back with a simple nail art that any beginner can try! I found my work to be little clumsy today but I still wanted to share it.
This is how I did the nail art.
1. Apply base coat & paint your nails with your favourite color I used Avon's Juicy Plum shade.
2. Take paint brush number 00 or bindi brush & start drawing line to make it look like a Chamomile flower on the ring finger. I'm not doing it on all fingers because I felt it would either look garish or OTT.
3. After making the flower, I placed a dark purple rhinestone in the middle of the flower to complete the look. Apply a top coat & you are done.

So Girls, Hope you like this. Do give it a try because you won't need many tools to do this. Its very simple :))

Jovees Lip Balm-Strawberry Flavour

I have been using the Jovees Lip Balm in Strawberry flavour for a long time now, so decided to write a post on it. Before using this I tried lip balms from Nivea & also Avon Lip balms in Strawberry,Cherry & Aloe. Here is my post on the Avon Lipbalms on IMBB
I had also used Lypsyl Lip balm that a friend of mine gifted. Lypsyl  is a brand of moisturizing lip balm manufactured by Novartis Consumer Health, a Switzerland-based pharmaceutical company. Though it was moisturizing the Lipbalm used lo leave a white cast every time.
I have also used Shahnaz Hussain Lip Balm & Revlon Lipbalm few years back. So I have this desire to try so many lipbalms. The latest one I'm eying is the Eva Lip Balm. Now coming to the Jovees Lip balm here's my take on that.

What does the company claim about the Lip Balm: It contains pure almond and olive extracts along with natural Vitamin A , B , C and E. It soothes and conditions delicate lip area, restores moisture.

Flavours Available: Strawberry, Lavender,Lemon

Available at: Any Indian Cosmetic stores or Super Markets.

Price: I guess I got it for either Rs 69 or RS 79 INR, I don't remember the actual price because it's not written on the tub & I threw away the actual box pack.

Reasons why I adore this Lip balm:
1. Its moisturizes & takes care of my chapped lips.
2. Gives a sheer glossy pink color to the lips.
3. No bitter taste or unpleasant fragrance.
4. Reasonably priced
5. Has a nice strawberry fragrance.

Reasons why I abhor this Lip balm:
1. No SPF
2. Doesn't leave any tint. In the beginning it appears sheer glossy pink & after sometime it just disappears.
3. There is no information about the expiry or manufactured date on the tub, so one has to keep the outer packaging to have the details.
4. In Summers, it kinda melts in the tub, if you know what I mean.
5. Comes in a tub, so every time you try to use the lip balm , it gets underneath the nails.

Will I repurchase ? No, I think I'll try other Lip Balms in the market.

Polka dotted Konad Nail art

Hello Beauties, Here is yet another attempt of mine at Konading. Shalini wanted to see the complete tutorial, so I tried taking some photos of the step by step procedure. This is somewhat similar to doing polka dots on the nail with a tooth pick or dotting tool, but that would be tiring & sometimes can get messy too. Hope you all like this one.

How did I do the nail art?
(1)I applied base coat first & then painted my nails with a nude color by Avon.
(2)Used Konad plate m60 & applied Konad special nail polish in red to the desired design.
(3)Take the Konad scraper & scrape across the design plate to remove excess polish.
(4)Press stamper across the design to pick it up.
(5)Stamp the design on the nail.
(6)Apply top coat on the entire nail & you are done.

Bourjois Paris Effect Smoky Eye Pencil

Hello Beauties, Here is review on Bourjois eye pencil that I had been using for a long time & I love this pencil a lot. I got the shade 73 Deep Green. Here is my take on this.

Product description on the Bourjois Website

DOUBLE-TIPPED EYELINER TO SMUDGE FOR A PERFECT EVERY DAY SMOKY LOOK!

A smoky look available in 5 deep and intense shades achievable in 2 simple steps:
1) Outline the eye with the pencil
2) Smudge with the brush
Its soft, easy-to-blend tip glides along the lashline for an intense outline in one stroke.
Its ultra soft brush made of natural bristles perfectly smudges the formula.
The result: a subtle but incredibly sexy smoky look in just 2 steps!
And it's good for my eyes:
- High tolerance formula
- Tested on sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
- Enriched with natural waxes and vitamin E & C*.
*Vitamine derivatives.
Available at: I got this from Lifestyle
Price: Rs.350 INR
Reasons why I adore it:
1. The pencil glides smoothly & is pigmented too.
2. Its's creamy & gives nice intense color. & doesn't tug at all.
3. I applied it on my waterline & it doesn't sting.
4. Decently priced at RS.350
5. The quality of the brush is excellent, it's soft & easy to blend.
Reasons why I abhor it:
1. It stays without smudging or bleeding  for just 3-4 hours, I expect more ;-)
Final Verdict: This is nice eye pencil that glides well & & I love the intense color it gives that stays good for 3-4 hours after which it smudges.
